First of all, that beard that Mr. Ibsen has is superb. I envy his style.
"I won't cut my beard and I won't change my hair"
From what I've gathered, he seems do play around a lot with the roles of women, as shown in our activity today in class. That's some good timing. Clearly, the standards during the time of this play is different from know, seeing as he DIED almost a hundred and ten years ago. From what I've read, Ibsen uses irony in his work, which I will look forward too because although I'm not too great at it, irony is entertaining to me. Interestingly, that song "Ironic" we listened to a while back was only ironic because it had no irony in it, despite the title. I own a song called "The Irony of Choking on a Lifesaver" which is pretty funny. The lyrical content doesn't relate to the title though, as with most of my music. I digress.
Based on the title, I immediately thought of a small child playing with dolls in a dollhouse. I thought of them controlling the actions of the dolls and pairing them up. So I inferred that the play would be about relationships and involve some controlling force. Based on the information gathered on Ibsen, I can also infer it will focus on the women and their roles, possibly in their relationships. Of course, it will be hard to project this onto our current world, because it was written in 1879.
